When Should You Start Looking for Camps in L.A.?

Is Februray too soon to sign up for camp?

We noticed an article on summer camps today saying if you're looking for a camp in Alaska, now's the time to sign up. Wow, it's only mid-February, and we're talking about summer camp here, so it seems like it might be a little too soon to start submitting camp applications. Or is it?

Perhaps camps fill up fast in Alaska than they do here in L.A., because we've observed, most of the summer programs in the L.A. area are not going fill up in the next few weeks.  There are certainly exceptions to the rule -- there may be a camp or two that's so popular or so small it's ALREADY full -- but for the most part you've certainly got time to explore various options before committing to one camp over another.  You generally won't be shut out by waiting just a little longer.
