It's always easier to find a great camp when you're able to compare lots of them together all at once. And the best way to learn about many different camps all in one place is by attending a summer camp fair.
You're probably familiar with a wedding expos or food show where you can visit individual booths to learn about all the different vendors' products and services. The wedding expo might have lots of different D.J's and florists displaying their wares, for example, while the food expo might have different cupcakes, breads, and other various items you can sample by visiting all the various booths.
Camp Fairs are similar events, except instead of food or wedding vendors, summer camps are on display instead. That means you can go booth-to-booth meeting various camp directors in person and learning about their programs. You can get free brochures and ask questions, and your kids can sample different activities camps might be offering at their respective booths. It's kind of like a Farmer's Market, but for summer camps instead!

Many of the top summer camps in Los Angeles -- and other phenomenal programs from throughout the state, other states, and even from other and countries -- will come together to exhibit their programs for L.A. area families at three summer Camp Fair expo events on Saturday, March 9 at UCLA, Sunday, March 10 in Los Feliz, and Sunday, April 7 in Calabasas, respectively.
These three events -- collectively known as "L.A. Camp Fair 2019"-- is organized by Eric Naftulin and Megan Cassidy, two Los Angeles residents with years of background experience in the summer camp field.
Los Angeles families, parents, children, and grandparents are invited to attend one, two, or all three Camp Fairs to meet representatives from the participating programs and learn about their camps.
"Attending the L.A. Camp Fair is like finding a "one-stop shop" to learn about all the best summer camp opportunities in L.A. this summer," Cassidy said. "Over 120 camps are exhibiting at the Camp Fairs. There will be some crossover among participating camps, with some of the programs exhibiting at all three of the Camp Fairs, but others might be showcasing their programs at only one or two events. In order to become familiar with all the available summer camp options, we recommended families attend all three Camp Fairs so you don't miss anything."
According to Cassidy, the Camp Fairs are free, but you'll need tickets to get in because the Camp Fairs typically draw large crowds.
Families Can Learn About Many Different Kinds of Camps at the L.A. Camp Fair
L.A. Camp Fair 2019 features an impressive lineup of many different kinds of summer programs from all over Los Angeles and elsewhere. "Families are guaranteed to find the perfect camp for their child at the Camp Fair, no matter what kind of camp they might be looking for," Naftulin said. "There will be programs exhibiting at the L.A. Camp Fair to match every child's interests. You'll find day camps to sleepaway camps and beach camps to dance camps and every kind of camp in between."
According to Naftulin, families won't only be impressed with the various kinds of camps at L.A. Camp Fair, but also where the various programs are based. "Local families will discover dozens of summer camps in L.A. that interest them," Naftulin said. "But there will also be many summer camp exhibitors from San Diego, northern California, Maine, New Hampshire, and even Canada. So if you're thinking of sending your child to a sleepaway camp a little further away, attending the Camp Fair will be extremely worthwhile for you," Naftulin said.
L.A. Camp Fair Provides Unique Opportunity to Meet Camp Representatives Face-to-Face
If you're really looking for the number one reason to attend the L.A. Camp Fair, Megan Cassidy says it's the benefit of meeting the people who will be caring for your kids this summer face-to-face.
"Dozens of camps will be represented at the Camp Fair," Cassidy said, "So you'll be able to learn about all these spectacular summer programs for your kids. You can pick up free brochures and your kids can do sample activities at all the Camp Fair booths and all that. But let's face it, nothing beats the opportunity to have a real, face-to-face comprehensive conversation with all the prospective Camp Directors who could very well be supervising your kids this summer. That's the primary purpose of the L.A. Camp Fair -- to give you an opportunity to spend as much time as you need with all the various camp representatives and get all your questions answered so you can make an informed decision about where to send your kids to camp."
Over 1,000 Families Expected to Attend L.A. Camp Fair
Apart from the opportunity to meet friendly camp representatives from all kinds of local summer day and overnight camps at the UCLA Camp Fair in Los Angeles, you'll also discover a number of amazing programs from further away, too.

So if you're looking for an overnight camp for your kids this summer, attending the UCLA Camp Fair is an opportunity you can't afford to miss.

The UCLA Camp Fair's Behind Us. Next Up, Conejo Valley and Calabasas Camp Fairs Next Month!
The most gratifying part of our job is when we're able to provide information families can use to find amazing summer programs for their kids.
This past weekend we held a summer camp expo at UCLA where over 1,000 people showed up to meet camp representatives from over 60 day camps and sleepaway camps to find their right camp for their children.
By all accounts it was successful in every way. Here's a quote from Ken F., a Los Angeles resident who attended last Sunday's UCLA Camp Fair with his family:
"The L.A. Camp Fair at UCLA was a win-win for our family. My wife, son-in-law and most important 11 yr old grandson came away with plenty of insight into the vast world of camping. From robots to fencing to sports, to stand-up comedy, to language immersion, to water, land and plenty more activities we have so many options to review. Thanks to you and your staff the show was well organized and upbeat from the moment we were greeted at the door to the reps behind the camp tables. The enthusiasm of adults and kids was palpable throughout the venue. Congrats on a superb effort."
Please note, we're not showing you Ken's description of the UCLA camp fair to pat ourselves on the back. Far from it, and quite the opposite in fact.
Instead we wanted you to see how valuable attending a Camp Fair can be as a resource to help you find a great camp, and more specifically, so you mark your calendars for our next two upcoming Camp Fair events in Thousand Oaks on April 14 and Calabasas April 22, respectively.
The Calabasas and Conejo Valley Camp Fairs will be fun for the whole family!
For those families searching for the perfect summer camp, we highly encourage you to come out to one of our next two Camp Fairs! Both events will be fun for the whole family with games, prizes and free food for everyone, not to mention the best part of all -- meeting and greeting staff from over 50 local and out-of-state summer day camp programs and overnight camps and so many other kinds of camps in between!
We had a GREAT time at last Sunday's L.A. Camp Fair at UCLA!
Despite the rainy weather -- and the last minute move to hold the Camp Fair inside Pauley Pavillion rather than outside the Sunset Canyon Recreation Center -- over 1,000 people attended the Camp Fair! These families got to meet and interact with camp representatives from 62 amazing day camps, overnight camps, and every other kind of camp and summer program you can imagine.
We are so happy to be able to match up so many families with so many wonderful programs. We know you will find a fantastic summer camp experience for your kids this year, simply because you attended the Camp Fair!
But if you were among the hundreds (and hundreds and hundreds and HUNDREDS!) of families who attended Sunday's event, now your real work begins!
After collecting lots of brochures and meeting many people, you now have the task of sorting through all your materials to find a great camp for your child.
Sometimes it can be overwhelming seeing so many camps and people together in one place, so we've compiled a list for you below with links to all the camps who participated at Sunday's Los Angeles Summer Camp Fair. Just click on the links below to visit each camp's website and learn more.
(By the way, the following list is also a great resource for families who may have missed Sunday's UCLA Camp Fair and want to find a super program for their kids this summer!)

Meet Representatives from Outdoor Journeys - Camp Nawakwa at the L.A. Camp Fair
Beautiful Day Camp and Resident Camp in the San Bernadino Mountains
Their beautiful and private 14-acre site is in the middle of the National Forest, therefore, it offers much more than just what is contained within its boundaries.
Camp Nawakwa is ideal for large groups. There are many buildings that can serve as sleeping cabins; the main lodge/dining hall can be used as a roomy in-door meeting area; and there are many quiet outdoor spots to work in or to just enjoy.
The camp has the capacity to house 210 participants year round. Outside of the summer months groups are welcome to rent out the entire facility and perform their own catering or save all the hassles and worries, by leaving the cooking to the camp staff.
If you are looking for a summer day camp, overnight camp or both, consider Camp Nawakwa! Representatives from their program will be available to meet you and answer all your questions at the L.A. Camp Fair at UCLA on Sunday, March 11. Come by and say hello!
Each day hundreds of parents visit our website looking for the perfect Los Angeles summer camp for their kids. We appreciate being considered a valuable resource for families in that regard.
From time to time we get phone calls, asking for tips on picking the right summer program or requesting referrals to some. We always enjoy speaking with parents about the value and benefits of the camp experience and helping them find the right program for their kids.
How We Helped Three Conejo Valley Families Find a Summer Camp
Just yesterday three different parents from Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village and Oak Park emailed us inquiring about local summer camp opportunities. These families had kids ranging in age from three to fifteen, and their all questions were pretty much the same: Where could they find some really good summer camps in the Conejo Valley?
That's an easy question to answer! Come to the L.A. Conejo Valley Camp Fair and meet staff from over 50 programs all in one place.
What's the Conejo Valley Camp Fair?
In a nutshell, the Conejo Valley Camp Fair is the biggest and best summer camp expo for kids and families in the Conejo Valley area.
Presented by L.A. Camp Fair 2018, the Conejo Valley Camp Fair takes place Saturday, April 14 at Conejo Creek North Park in Thousand Oaks. The Conejo Valley Camp Fair is a totally free summer camp expo where over 50 camps and programs will all come together "under one roof" to showcase their programs and activities for summer 2018.
There will be day camps, overnight camps, sports camps, acting camps, music camps, gymnastics camps, Jewish camps, science camps -- you name it! All kinds of camps and programs will be there, and many will be doing live demonstrations and sample activities at their booths so your child can experience the exact same activities they'll be doing at camp this summer.
You'll also be to get brochures and other promotional materials from all the camps, participate in raffles and drawings to win free camp sessions from many of the programs, enjoy great food and have an all- around fun day at this free event.
Attending the Conejo Valley Camp is by far the easiest, most convenient, and efficient way to find the perfect summer program for your child because it provides the opportunity for you to meet so many camp directors from various programs at the same time. Isn't that a whole lot better than contacting each camp individually for information? Of course it is! : )
Which Camps are Attending the Conejo Valley Camp Fair?
It's important to note that while the Conejo Valley Camp Fair will feature many local camps and programs, you'll also meet many camp counselors, directors and staff members from out-of town-camps, too.
Here is a current list of all the camps attending the Conejo Valley Camp Fair. This is only a partial list and growing by the day! There will be more camps than this exhibiting at the Camp Fair in Conejo Valley.
Are Children Welcome at the Camp Fair?
Absolutely! This will be a fun, informative, festive event designed for your whole family. Your kids will love meeting all the enthusiastic camp counselors from the participating camps, and we will have many fun activities and great food for them to enjoy too. It will be a family-friendly day all around!
Conejo Valley Camp Fair Location: Creek North Park, Thousand Oaks
The Conejo Valley Camp Fair takes place at the Lakeside Pavillion in Conejo Creek North Park. Admission is entirely free. When you enter the park, follow the access road all the way around until you see the Lakeside Pavilion. There will be people, cars, canopies and fun activities taking place everywhere, just like you'd imagine at a carnival or festival. When you arrive at the Camp Fair, please check in with our friendly Camp Fair staff at the welcome booth to pick up a free directory of all the participating camps and then start making your way around to visit all the booths. You shouldn't have any trouble finding the park, but just in case, we're including a map below for your reference.
Tickets and Parking
Admission to the Conejo Valley Camp Fair is totally free and so is parking with over 200 free parking spaces nearby. But even though admission to the Camp Fair is free, we suggest grabbing free tickets ahead of time because your free ticket automatically enters you into our raffles and drawings to win free merchandise (and even free camp!) from participating camps. When you arrive at the Camp Fair, just show you tickets to any Camp Fair representative on site and they will check you in and hand you your raffle tickets for the drawing.
We are looking forward to seeing you at the Conejo Valley Camp Fair! It's going be a great time!
L.A's filled with an amazing variety of summer camp opportunities for kids. The types and programs and activities are endless. While many kids are perfectly happy attending a traditional camp experience where they get to enjoy a diverse set of camp activities such as horseback riding and archery, other kids may have more focused interests. We've highlighted three popular beach-themed summer day camp options in the L.A. area for kids. Click through to their websites for more information, or meet them in person at the upcoming L.A. Summer Camp Fair and Expo in March and April.
Aloha Beach Camp
Established in 1999, Aloha Beach Camp Summer Day Camp is a veritable aquatic playground for kids and teens. This camp bills itself as L.A's most comprehensive aquatic summer camp, and we can see why. The camp takes place at a wide variety of Malibu beaches like Zuma and Paradise Cove, plus day trips to Castaic Lake. Hurricane Harbor and other fun aquatic venues on a rotating basis where campers enjoy surfing lessons, boogie boarding instruction, jet skiing activities and more. Free transportation on buses and vans is provided. The camp also offers a 100% money-back guarantee if you are not completely satisfied. www.alohabeachcamp.com
Sandy Days Kids Camp
Fitness by the Sea
L.A. Camp Fair 2018 is a summer camp expo in Los Angeles featuring over 100 summer day camps, sleepaway camps, specialty camps and many other kinds of fun and exciting programs where families can connect live in person with camp counselors, staff and other representatives from the exhibiting camps and learn about their programs.
Attending a Camp Fair is one of the most (if not THE most) convenient and informative ways to find out about all the available summer camp opportunities for your child because Camp Fairs provide an environment where so many different camps all come together under one roof to share and discuss their programs and activities with you and to see if their program would be a good fit for your son or daughter this summer.
In fact, many of the participating summer camps will be doing sample live activities and demonstrations at their booths so your child can get a "sneak peak" at the actual activities they'd enjoy at camp this summer.
Where Does the L.A. Camp Fair Take Place?
The Camp Fair takes place at three different locations in greater L.A. on three separate dates this year in March and April. No matter where you live in L.A., you'll find a convenient Camp Fair event near you.
Camp Fair Tickets are Entirely Free
Several parents have reached out to us inquiring about whether L.A. Camp Fair tickets cost money. The answer is no! Tickets to all three camp fair events are entirely free, and just one ticket will admit your whole family to any of the three Camp Fairs.
What happens if you show up to the Camp Fair without tickets? No worries, you won't be turned away! To the contrary, you'll be welcomed with open arms to any or all three L..A. Camp Fair events whether or not you show up at the door with tickets. But we suggest getting tickets beforehand for two reasons.
First, reserving your tickets ahead of time helps us know how many families to expect at each event. We want to make sure we have the right amount of games, food, activities and everything else, so your advance ticket helps us plan better for the right number of people.
Second, your free Camp Fair ticket automatically enters you into drawings and raffles to win gifts, prizes, and even free camp sessions from participating camp exhibitors
Free Tickets to One, Two or All Three Camp Fair Events
Here's where to get your free tickets to the L.A. Camp Fair. You can reserve your tickets today and they'll will be emailed to you immediately, and you can print them out or even download them and/or save them to your phone so you don't have ever have to print them in the first place. Upon your arrival at the Camp Fair, just show your ticket to one of our helpful L.A. Camp Fair concierges and we'll give you a bunch or free raffle tickets on the spot.
Meet Camp Staff From Young Set Club and Other Traditional Summer Programs at L.A. Camp Fair 2018
Many families view specialty camps as all the rage, but L.A. has its fair share of traditional summer camp camps, too. In fact these types of programs have been a staple for Los Angeles children to enjoy every summer for years.
One such program is Young Set Club.
For over 30 years, Young Set Club has provided a hands-on experience where campers choose from a variety of activities, have opportunity to progressively build skills, and gain a sense of belonging. Their camp leaders -- their counselors and staff -- build a culture that encourages everyone to help each other become more creative and thrive in a fun and supportive camp environment.
Young set club is a traditional summer day camp located in Thousand Oaks. To learn more about the Young Set Club's program and meet their staff in person, come to the L.A. Camp Fair on Saturday, April 14 at Conejo Creek North Park.
Not only will you meet representatives from Young Set Club, there will be many other excellent camps and programs who operate summer camps in Los Angeles just like theirs for you to discover.
The L.A. Camp Fair is free and fun for everyone and will be an exciting event for the whole family, so be sure to join the fun on April 14.
Here at L.A. Summer Camps.com, we always want to help you find the best camp for your child. Which such a diverse set of available programs, it's not always easy finding the right one.
That's why we're sponsoring L.A. Camp Fair 2018. The L.A. Camp Fair is a huge, 3-day summer camp expo taking place at three convenient locations throughout greater the Los Angeles area in March and April.
What Exactly is a Summer Camp Fair... and What Exactly is L.A. Camp Fair 2018?
You've probably been to various expos in the past where companies, people, or organizations in a single industry come together in a hotel, meeting room, dining hall, gymnasium, park, etc. to exhibit their offerings for consumers.
Wedding, bridal, tattoo, food, boat, auto, and so many other similar examples of various expos come to mind.
And that's just what Camp Fair 2018 will be like -- collection of over 75 summer camps and programs assembling in one place to exhibit their program offerings, answer all your questions, and give you the opportunity to meet them in person to better assist you in finding the ideal camp for your child this summer.
At many Camp Fairs, including L.A. Camp Fair 2018, many of the camps and programs will be doing live exhibitions and demonstrations of their actual camp activities so your child can a great idea of what actually takes place at camp.
There will also be games and activities for the kids plus food, prizes and raffles where you could win free camp sessions from participating camps.
Why Should We Attend the L.A. Camp Fair?
Several reasons, really. One of the main ones is that with so many camps on display all in one place, you're bound to find at least of few programs that catch your child's interest.
Visiting so many different programs at the same time is also quite convenient for you -- a huge time-saver compared to calling or emailing all the different camps to learn more about their programs one by one.
The other element of attending a Camp Fair many parents love is the opportunity to meet the camp counselors, directors and staff first hand. In many cases, families sign-up for summer camps sight-unseen and basically need to trust their gut they've picked the right program.
But at the Camp Fair, you can meet the camp staff ahead of time first-hand. Making this personal connection in advance is a great way to get a personal feel for the people who you're entrusting your kids to this year. It's a fantastic opportunity to see which camps make a good first impression which, as we all know, means a lot.
Where at the Three L.A. Camp Fair Dates and Locations for 2018?
With three convenient dates and locations throughout L. A. and the Valley, you are bound to find an L.A. Camp Fair close to you. Attending the event most convenient (proximity-wise) to you is an ideal way to meet over 50 or 60 camps.
However, just a quick FYI: attending all three Camp Fairs is the only way to guarantee you'll see all of the participating camps without missing any. That's because not all of the camps are attending all three events, in other words, some of the programs are only attending one or two. So if you're interested in seeing every exhibiting program you might consider attending all three events.
It's totally up to you to decide how many of the Camp Fairs you'll attend this year. We've spoken with parents who are coming to just one, other parents who are coming to two, and others who are coming to all three. Meanwhile, here are the details for the three L.A. Camp Fair 2018 expos this year:
• L.A. Camp Fair Event #1: Sunday, March 11 at UCLA
• L.A. Camp Fair Event #2: Saturday, April 14 at Conejo Creek North Park, Thousand Oaks
• L.A. Camp Fair Event #2: Sunday, April 22 at A.C. Stelle Middle School in Calabasas
How Can We Get Tickets to All Three Camp Fair Events?
Great question! All of the events are absultyue free and you can get your free tickets to any or all individual events by following the links above for each respective camp fair event.
If you would like a single free ticekt to all three evetns, we're offering a free 3-day event pass you can prink or keep onyour phone which will give you entry into all three camp fairs for free. Get your free 3-day event pass here.
What Kinds of Camps are Attending L.A. Camp Fair?
All kinds of camps are exhibiting their programs at L.A. Camp Fair 2018. We're talking day camps, sleepaway camps, overnight camps, karate camps, STEM camps, robotics camps, all-girls camps, you name it! In fact if you can imagine the perfect camp for your child, we bet you'll find one just like it at L.A. Camp Fair 2018.
