A New Year is upon us, which causes parents immediately to start thinking about signing up their kids for summer camp. Summer camp is a fun and exciting experience for children, notably because so many of the most exciting camp activities take place outside.
But what happens when it rains? This is a legitimate question, especially these days when it's been raining like cats and dogs here in L.A. Rain is on everyone's mind, and so is camp! If it rains during the summertime while kids are at camp, unfortunately outdoor activities may be limited. But there are still plenty of fun activities that camps can do to keep kids entertained and engaged on rainy days at camp. Indoor Sports and Games Many camps have indoor facilities, for example, gyms or multipurpose rooms. These facilities can be used for campers to engage in fun activities like arts & crafts, basketball, gymnastics, volleyball, capture the flag, dodgeball, indoor soccer and more. Educational Activities The popularity of camp activities geared focusing on science and academics such as STEM, STEAM and robotics, is on the rise. These types of programs and activities are perfectly suited for rainy days. Campers can build robots, science experiments, or enjoy history lessons. These activities can help children learn new things and gain a deeper appreciation for the world around them. Rainy Days Doesn't Meet Less Fun! Rainy days at camp can be just as fun and engaging as sunny days at camp, as long as there are plenty of indoor activities to keep kids entertained. Whether it's playing games, making arts and crafts, or learning something new, there are many ways that camps can help children make the most of a rainy day! |
