Where is the best place to look to find the ideal program? And finally, what criteria are you looking for in a camp experience? Hopefully we can camp to provide some answers to these questions.
What Criteria Do You Use When Finding a Camp For Your Child?
While there are many ways to choose a camp. But when all is said and done, we always suggest choosing a program with activities your child enjoys the most and to include your son or daughter in the camp decision-making process.
If your daughter's into science or robotics but you choose an acting camp for her instead, then her camp experience might not go as well as planned! Thankfully there's many fun robotics and science summer programs in Los Angeles to choose from instead. But we're getting a little ahead of ourselves. Let's step back and consider all the various kinds of available opportunities and where you can find camps that "fit" your child's interests to ensure an outstanding camp experience this summer. What Kind of Camp are You Looking For?
Maybe a more appropriate question is, what do you think of when you think of camp, and what do you expect from the camp experience?
In that case you'll be happy to know pretty much any type of specialty camp you can imagine is available for your child to enjoy this summer from gymnastics camps to music camps to sports camps to beach camps and everything in between.
Bottom line, if you can dream it, you can bet there's a camp that specializes in delivering the very activity or activities your child enjoys the most. What Makes Summer Camp So Fun?
No matter who you ask, campers of all ages and genders will generally answer the same way when asked what they like most about going camp: "It's FUN!"
After speaking with more than 25 them, two common reasons why their kids loved camp so much consistently came up:
1. The activities were incredibly fun
2. The counselors and friends they made at camp were amazing. In other words, the activities and the people are the two primary elements that make the camp experience so much fun for everyone. The Activities
The People
Camp people are some of the most wonderful people you'll meet. We're talking everyone involved from the campers attending the program to the owners and directors of the program and everyone in between.
In fact, at the upcoming L.A. Camp Fairs at UCLA, Calabasas and Conejo Valley this March and April, there will be at least 50 camp exhibitors at each event.
L.A. Camp Fair will be a fun, informative and festive atmosphere where you can meet representatives from all the programs to help you find the best summer camps in Los Angeles for your child this year.

Here at L.A. Summer Camps.com, we always want to help you find the best camp for your child. Which such a diverse set of available programs, it's not always easy finding the right one.
That's why we're sponsoring L.A. Camp Fair 2018. The L.A. Camp Fair is a huge, 3-day summer camp expo taking place at three convenient locations throughout greater the Los Angeles area in March and April. What Exactly is a Summer Camp Fair... and What Exactly is L.A. Camp Fair 2018?
You've probably been to various expos in the past where companies, people, or organizations in a single industry come together in a hotel, meeting room, dining hall, gymnasium, park, etc. to exhibit their offerings for consumers.
Wedding, bridal, tattoo, food, boat, auto, and so many other similar examples of various expos come to mind. And that's just what Camp Fair 2018 will be like -- collection of over 75 summer camps and programs assembling in one place to exhibit their program offerings, answer all your questions, and give you the opportunity to meet them in person to better assist you in finding the ideal camp for your child this summer. At many Camp Fairs, including L.A. Camp Fair 2018, many of the camps and programs will be doing live exhibitions and demonstrations of their actual camp activities so your child can a great idea of what actually takes place at camp. There will also be games and activities for the kids plus food, prizes and raffles where you could win free camp sessions from participating camps. Why Should We Attend the L.A. Camp Fair?
Several reasons, really. One of the main ones is that with so many camps on display all in one place, you're bound to find at least of few programs that catch your child's interest.
Visiting so many different programs at the same time is also quite convenient for you -- a huge time-saver compared to calling or emailing all the different camps to learn more about their programs one by one. The other element of attending a Camp Fair many parents love is the opportunity to meet the camp counselors, directors and staff first hand. In many cases, families sign-up for summer camps sight-unseen and basically need to trust their gut they've picked the right program. But at the Camp Fair, you can meet the camp staff ahead of time first-hand. Making this personal connection in advance is a great way to get a personal feel for the people who you're entrusting your kids to this year. It's a fantastic opportunity to see which camps make a good first impression which, as we all know, means a lot. Where at the Three L.A. Camp Fair Dates and Locations for 2018?
With three convenient dates and locations throughout L. A. and the Valley, you are bound to find an L.A. Camp Fair close to you. Attending the event most convenient (proximity-wise) to you is an ideal way to meet over 50 or 60 camps.

That's because not all of the camps are attending all three events, in other words, some of the programs are only attending one or two. So if you're interested in seeing every exhibiting program you might consider attending all three events. It's totally up to you to decide how many of the Camp Fairs you'll attend this year.
