Dodger Stadium Camp Fair Cancelled

2/23/2022

Unfortunately we've had to cancel the LA Camp Fair at Dodger Stadium which was set to take place March 6.

This was not an easy decision to make. In the end, we determined there were too many variables in play that could make the quality of this event less than ideal.

Our goal is to provide an authentic and genuine camp fair experience for every event. We will never host an event we don't feel like would meet our standards and be successful for you, so we've decided not to hold the camp fair event at Dodger Stadium this year.

The good news is, the UCLA, Calabasas and San Diego events are going to be lively and wonderful with lots of camps for your to meet. Please get your tickets to those events with the links below so we can make sure we have room for you because we are expecting huge crowds.

  • UCLA Camp Fair information and tickets
  • Calabasas Camp Fair tickets and information
  • San Diego Camp Fair tickets, details and information

We'll see you at the Camp Fairs!

Free Tickets to the L.A. Camp Fair

We're expecting lots of kids and families at the upcoming Camp Fairs. We hope you'll join us, too, but we only have room for a limited number of guests because the Camp Fair venue (Pauley Pavilion at UCLA) is capacity-controlled.

That means you'll need tickets to get in, but remember, the tickets are free and just one single ticket will admit your whole family to the Camp Fair. If you're interested in finding a great camp for your kids this summer, don't miss the L.A. Camp Fair at UCLA and grab your free tickets today.

We are certainly going to sponsor the UCLA Camp Fair and a few others including one in Los Feliz. We'll post again in a few days with finalized details about the Los Feliz Camp Fair, UCLA Camp Fair and more.

The UCLA Camp Fair's Behind Us. Next Up, Conejo Valley and Calabasas Camp Fairs Next Month!

3/15/2018

The most gratifying part of our job is when we're able to provide information families can use to find amazing summer programs for their kids.

This past weekend we held a summer camp expo at UCLA where over 1,000 people showed up to meet camp representatives from over 60 day camps and sleepaway camps to find their right camp for their children.

By all accounts it was successful in every way.  Here's a quote from Ken F., a Los Angeles resident who attended last Sunday's UCLA Camp Fair with his family:
"The L.A. Camp Fair at UCLA was a win-win for our family.  My wife, son-in-law and most important 11 yr old grandson came away with plenty of insight into the vast world of camping.  From robots to fencing to sports, to stand-up comedy, to language immersion, to water, land and plenty more activities we have so many options to review.  Thanks to you and your staff the show was well organized and upbeat from the moment we were greeted at the door to the reps behind the camp tables.  The enthusiasm of adults and kids was palpable throughout the venue.  Congrats on a superb effort."
Please note, we're not showing you Ken's description of the UCLA camp fair to pat ourselves on the back. Far from it, and quite the opposite in fact.

Instead we wanted you to see how valuable attending a Camp Fair can be as a resource to help you find a great camp, and more specifically, so you mark your calendars for our next two upcoming Camp Fair events in Thousand Oaks on April 14 and Calabasas April 22, respectively.

Conejo Valley Thousand Oaks Camp Fair Saturday, April 14, 2018

Los Angeles Calabasas Camp Fair Sunday, April 22, 2018

Conejo Valley Camp Fair Flyer. The Conejo Valley Camp Flyer
Date: Saturday, April 14, 2018

Calabasas Camp Fair Flyer
Date: Sunday, April 22, 2018
Where: A.C. Stelle Middle School, Calabasas
Times: 12:00 PM to 3: 00 PM

The Calabasas and Conejo Valley Camp Fairs will be fun for the whole family!

For those families searching for the perfect summer camp, we highly encourage you to come out to one of our next two Camp Fairs! Both events will be fun for the whole family with games, prizes and free food for everyone, not to mention the best part of all -- meeting and greeting staff from over 50 local and out-of-state summer day camp programs and overnight camps and so many other kinds of camps in between!

Camp Quest West is a sleep-away summer camp for curious minds: fun, exploration, science, critical thinking and Humanist values. Learn and grow in a tolerant environment of support, inclusion, and diversity where participants openly discuss what it means to be a skeptic, a scientist, a philosopher, a feminist, a leader, a freethinker, and a Humanist.
You can meet representatives from Camp Quest West and many other overnight summer camps at the upcoming L.A. Camp Fair events on March 11 at UCLA, April 14 in Thousand Oaks and April 22 in Calabasas.

Attending L.A. Camp Fair the free and smart, fast and easy way to find your child's perfect summer program for 2018 because it removes the overwhelming and time-consuming process of spending time visiting hundred's of camp websites, making phone call after call, and sending and receiving countless emails to and from camp directors and then sorting through everything just to find some that interest you.

Instead, at the Camp Fair, you can meet and interact with camp representatives from many of the best summer camps in Los Angeles in person.  You can get a much better impression and personal feel for the programs and people you're entrusting your child to this summer when you meet them face to face versus emailing them back and forth!

The L.A. Camp Fair is like a "one-stop-shop" for finding the best camp because instead of spending time tracking down all the camps individually for information, all the camps come to you!

Beautiful Day Camp and Resident Camp in the San Bernadino Mountains

Some of the camps attending the upcoming L.A. Camp Fair are day camps.

Some are sleepaway camps.

And some, like Camp Nawakwa, are both!

Camp Nawakwa is located in the beautiful Barton Flats Area of the San Bernardino Mountains.

Nawakwa sits at an elevation of 6850’ at the northern foot of the San Gorgonio Wilderness. Being accredited by the American Camp Association assures Camp Nawakwa attendees that they will receive the highest standards and outstanding service. Majestic Ponderosa, Jeffrey Pine and Black Oak trees shade the camp and the surrounding hiking trails.
Camper climbing the climbing wall at Camp Nawakwa
Their beautiful and private 14-acre site is in the middle of the National Forest, therefore, it offers much more than just what is contained within its boundaries.

Camp Nawakwa is ideal for large groups. There are many buildings that can serve as sleeping cabins; the main lodge/dining hall can be used as a roomy in-door meeting area; and there are many quiet outdoor spots to work in or to just enjoy.

The camp has the capacity to house 210 participants year round. Outside of the summer months groups are welcome to rent out the entire facility and perform their own catering or save all the hassles and worries, by leaving the cooking to the camp staff.

If  you are looking for a summer day camp, overnight camp or both, consider Camp Nawakwa! Representatives from their program will be available to meet you and answer all your questions at the L.A. Camp Fair at UCLA on Sunday, March 11. Come by and say hello!

L.A. Camp Fair 2018 is a summer camp expo in Los Angeles featuring over 100 summer day camps, sleepaway camps, specialty camps and many other kinds of fun and exciting programs where families can connect live in person with camp counselors, staff and other representatives from the exhibiting camps and learn about their programs.

Attending a Camp Fair is one of the most (if not THE most) convenient and informative ways to find out about all the available summer camp opportunities for your child because Camp Fairs provide an environment where so many different camps all come together under one roof to share and discuss their programs and activities with you and to see if their program would be a good fit for your son or daughter this summer.

In fact, many of the participating summer camps will be doing sample live activities and demonstrations at their booths so your child can get a "sneak peak" at the actual activities they'd enjoy at camp this summer.

There's a Camp for That!

You know that saying, "there's an app for that?"

It basically refers to the notion that whatever your interest in a certain subject or activity -- or you need help accomplishing a certain task, you're trying to find something, and so on -- you can simply download an app onto your phone, computer or tablet to help you achieve it.
There's an app for everything, and guess what? The same can be said about camps: "There's a camp for that" fits the bill exactly!

What do we mean by, "there's a camp for that?"

Simply this:  Whatever your child enjoys doing the most -- whatever they want to learn about or experience more than anything -- is available to them in the form of a specialty summer camp program. Here's what we mean.
Picture highlighting Los Angeles summer Camp Fair 2018 where parents and kid can find all kinds of camps, including specialty camp programs, all in one place
For many kids and families, the "regular" or traditional camp experience involves participating in a wide range of various activities.  Such activities might consist of dance, drama, swimming, horseback riding, and skits and songs around the campfire, sleeping under the stars in tents and cabins -- all stuff that comes to mind when you think of  a "usual" summer camp experience.

But for many kids, their interests are more specific. They might really be into learning how to play the guitar, so the natural approach for them would be choosing a summer camp that specializes in music.

Los Angeles is filled with many great summer music camps, so campers would never run out of choices!

So Many Specialty Camps to Choose From

The music camp example above is just one example of a type of summer camp that focuses on specific activities.

If your child love sports or baseball they might have a blast attending a sports specialty camp. Taking it a step further, maybe your son or daughter is a huge L.A. Dodgers fan. Did you know the Dodgers have a great summer baseball camp for kids?!

Just remember, whatever your child loves the most -- whatever they want to experience or try or can't get enough of -- there's a camp for that!

Here at L.A. Summer Camps.com, we always want to help you find the best camp for your child. Which such a diverse set of available programs, it's not always easy finding the right one.

That's why we're sponsoring L.A. Camp Fair 2018. The L.A. Camp Fair is a huge, 3-day summer camp expo taking place at three convenient locations throughout greater the Los Angeles area in March and April.
Picture

What Exactly is a Summer Camp Fair...  and What Exactly is L.A. Camp Fair 2018?

You've probably been to various expos in the past where companies, people, or organizations in a single industry come together in a hotel, meeting room, dining hall, gymnasium, park, etc. to exhibit their offerings for consumers.

Wedding, bridal, tattoo, food, boat, auto,  and so many other similar examples of various expos come to mind.

And that's just what Camp Fair 2018 will be like -- collection of over 75 summer camps and programs assembling in one place to exhibit their program offerings, answer all your questions, and give you the opportunity to meet them in person to better assist you in finding the ideal camp for your child this summer.

At many Camp Fairs, including L.A. Camp Fair 2018, many of the camps and programs will be doing live exhibitions and demonstrations of their actual camp activities so your child can a great idea of what actually takes place at camp.

There will also be games and activities for the kids plus food, prizes and raffles where you could win free camp sessions from participating camps.

Why Should We Attend the L.A. Camp Fair?

Several reasons, really. One of the main ones is that with so many camps on display all in one place, you're bound to find at least of few programs that catch your child's interest.

Visiting so many different programs at the same time is also quite convenient for you  -- a huge time-saver compared to calling or emailing all the different camps to learn more about their programs one by one.

The other element of attending a Camp Fair many parents love is the opportunity to meet the camp counselors, directors and staff first hand. In many cases, families sign-up for summer camps sight-unseen and basically need to trust their gut they've picked the right program.

But at the Camp Fair, you can meet the camp staff ahead of time first-hand. Making this personal connection in advance is a great way to get a personal feel for the people who you're entrusting your kids to this year.  It's a fantastic opportunity to see which camps make a  good first impression which, as we all know, means a lot.

Where at the Three L.A. Camp Fair Dates and Locations for 2018?

With three convenient dates and locations throughout L. A. and the Valley, you are bound to find an L.A. Camp Fair close to you.  Attending the event most convenient (proximity-wise) to you is an ideal way to meet over 50 or 60 camps.

However, just a quick FYI:  attending all three Camp Fairs is the only way to guarantee you'll see all of the participating camps without missing any. That's because not all of the camps are attending all three events, in other words, some of the programs are only attending one or two. So if you're interested in seeing every exhibiting program you might consider attending all three events.

It's totally up to you to decide how many of the Camp Fairs you'll attend this year. We've spoken with parents who are coming to just one, other parents who are coming to two, and others who are coming to all three.  Meanwhile, here are the details for the three L.A. Camp Fair 2018 expos this year:

There Could Be Many More L.A. Summer Camps Than You Think

12/9/2017

The nice thing about looking for summer programs for kids in L.A. is there's never a shortage of worthwhile programs. No matter what kind of camp you want for your kids, you'll be able to find it with such a wide selection of programs.

The thing is, though, families often limit themselves in their camp search because they may be unaware of the sheer incredible scope of available programs.

Sure, everyone knows what a day camp is, and there's many good ones in L.A.

The same can be said of sleepaway camps, too.

But don't let your camp search stop there!

Did you know you can also find camps that specialize in certain programs, activities or events, which can really increase the potential for your child to have an outstanding summer experience by choosing a program subject that interests them the most.

Let's say your son or daughter is really interested in learning Spanish this summer. There's a camp just for them!

Or how about computers and technology? There's even camps where your child can code a mobile app!

How To Find all These Amazing Program Options

Just the thought of sending your child to camp this summer is exciting. But your real challenge is finding the idea one. L.A. Camp Fair 2018 is your solution.

By attending the Camp Fair (similar to an expo), you' ll meet camp directors and staff from up to 100 different camps and learn about their programs. All the camps will be in one place so you can take  your time going booth-to-booth grabbing free brochures and meeting camp staff.

Admission is free and you even have your choice of Camp Fairs to attend either on Sunday, March 11 at UCLA; Saturday, April 14 in Thousand Oaks; or Sunday, April 22 in Calabasas.

Attending the L.A. Camp Fair is like a "one-stop-shop" for finding the best summer camp for you. Hope to see you there!
