It may be easier to think of Northridge Summer Camp as camps that may not be located in the city of Northridge proper, but rather serve Northridge kids. For instance, campers may ride buses to and from camp each day provided by the camp's transportation service, or maybe their kids live in a nearby community and their parents drive them to and from camp each day. However you view it, if you are contemplating a summer camp experience in the Northridge are of the San Fernando Valley this summer, then the following programs -- listed alphabetically -- are some of the top camps to consider.
Aloha Beach Camp
With free transportation in Porter Ranch (Aloha Beach Camp has a pick-up and drop-off point at the old Toys R Us at Porter Ranch Drive and the 101 Freeway) for Northridge kids, Northridge campers have been enjoying this ocean-based water sports camp for over 20 years. Kids who want a break from the sweltering Valley heat will love this water-rich program. The camp offers three age-specific aquatic-based programs with more than 200 different camp activities available for kids ages 4 to 15. Surfing lessons, ocean safety instruction, jet skiing and so much more are available for Northridge campers at Aloha Beach Camp this summer. No prior ocean experience is needed to participate because Aloha Beach Camp's camp counselors are ocean safety experts and lifeguards who'll give your child as much personal attention and instruction they need to thrive. Aloha Beach Camp offers a 100% money-back guarantee if you're not completely satisfied with the entire camp experience.
Drawn2Art
Drawn2Art is part of a franchise chain with a Northridge location that has become a summertime favorite among kids who love arts & crafts and want to have a spectacular summer camp experience while expressing their creativity and making lots of friends. It doesn't matter if your child is an experienced artist or just starting to explore their creative side, Drawn2Art Northridge is a camp not to miss. The camp is located at 9420 Reseda Blvd unit 10, Northridge , CA 91324. Full and half day options are available this summer. (Personally, we think more camps should offer half-day programs! :)

Camp Encino
There's a reason we've highlighted Camp Encino's benefits elsewhere on this website. This program has been a top summer destination among Encino kids and families for decades. In fact, its reputation so grand, kids from all over the San Fernando Valley (including untold numbers of campers from Northridge) flock to Camp Encino each summer. Camp Encino is located in the Encino Community Center. Unfortunately they don't provide transportation, so you'll have to drive your kids to and from camp each day yourself. However, we think your kids will love this program so much the drive won't bother you. You might even try rounding up some some friends in the Northridge area who'd enjoy sending their kids to camp here too, enabling you to carpool. With tons of fun activities from science to drama and free lunch and field trips, Northridge kids between the ages of 5 and 13 should rush to sign up for this exciting day camp now.
Camp Funtime
Camp Funtime is located at Westmark School in Encino, but so many Northridge kids attend Camp Funtime each summer it a would be a mistake to leave it off this list. We've heard from a few families Camp Funtime caters predominately to younger children. But a quick glance at their website show photos of kids of all ages having fun at camp. That means your older child could be missing out on a tremendous camp experience if you or they dismiss the idea of attending Camp Funtime catering to kids of all ages! If your family's considering a traditional camp experience with all the adventure and fun you could ever want in a comprehensive traditional camp experience, put Camp Funtime be at the top of your checklist.

Camp Helping Hands
Camp Helping Hands has several Los Angeles locations including in Northridge. Camp Helping Hands is one of L.A.'s best "service-learning" summer camps where kids ages 6 to 14 take field trips and participate in various community service projects. In addition to providing community service and help where its needed most, campers enjoy traditional camp activities like swimming, sports and games, arts & craft projects, and a lot more. Sounds like a fun summer to us!
Sierra Canyon Day Camp
Sierra Canyon Day Camp is located in Chatsworth on the campus of Sierra Canyon School. (Chatsworth, of course, is just a stone's throw away from Northridge.) Even though many kids who attend the day camp also attend the school, the day camp is popular among kids from everywhere in the Valley and especially among Northridge kids. As one of the few (in not only) American Camp Association Accredited day camps in the area, you can be sure Sierra Canyon's attention to safety, structure, detail and fun will suit your camper perfectly. We've spoken to many parents who've sent their kids to Sierra Canyon over the years and most of them tell us the same thing: The camp is so much fun, their kids don't want to go anywhere else.
Northridge Recreation Center (Kamp Kaleidoscope)
Kamp Kaledoscope operates at the Northridge Recreation Center. You can find all the camp information you need about this popular program here. Cooking, sports, games, arts and crafts -- you name it, Kamp Kaledoscope has it. Full and half day programs are available depending on your child's age. Day camps, sports camps, and camps for the little ones are available, too. If you want a local Northridge summer camp with affordable pricing and all the fun a kid could want in a camp, Kamp Kaledoscope is the place for you. The only drawback here is the lack of transportation provided by the camp. You'll have to get your kids to camp yourself, but since this program is located in the heart of Northridge, it shouldn't be that much of a hassle! Plus, your kids will love this camp, so don't let a little extra driving bother you :)

Performing Arts Workshop
The Performing Arts Workshop has a number of summer camp locations, but of course we're focusing on its Northridge program here. From film making to magic to musical theatre camps, Performing Arts Workshop has it all. The camp is held at Temple Ramat Zion located at 17655 Devonshire Street in Northridge. Programs run from June 15 to August 14 with your choice of one and two-week sessions. If your child's into the performing arts including acting, singing and dancing, they'll just love this camp!
