A summer camp for girls, Camp Hollywoodland is located directly adjacent to Los Feliz in Griffith Park. This program is operated by the Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation (L.A. Parks and Rec operates many camps and programs including others on this list.)  Some of Camp Hollywoodland's activities include arts & crafts, girls' getaway programs, camp leadership development, archery, swimming, rock climbing and more. They have some great Yelp reviews, too, so you can't go wrong choosing this camp for your daughter this summer.

Moreover, children who participate in this program will make many new friends as they explore, learn about and discover geology, study ecology and nature, climb trees, dig for water and swing on a rope over a dry creek bed.  Does this camp sound fun or what?!

According to its website, this camp boats a beautiful 10-acre facility clean, spacious cabins,  good food, a huge 30 ft. rock climbing wall, high ropes course, professional archery range and exciting trails for hiking and exploring.

6. Hollywood Soccer Academy Summer Camp

For kids and teens ages 3 to 14 who live in Los Feliz or close by and love soccer, this is definitely a summer program you'll want to consider.  Experienced coaches, camp counselors and support staff work closely with campers to help them learn the fundamentals of soccer and  soccer skill development.  One of the reasons we like this camp is due to the wide range of ages it serves. Even the youngest campers (3 years old) can participate!

8. Maker's Mess Summer Camp

Maker's Mess is located in Silver Lake, just a stone's throw away from Los Feliz. In fact, many kids from Silver Lake attend Maker's Mess Camp each year. If your child is between the ages and 4 to 12, loves art, and just loves "making a mess," this is the camp for you!

Camp Silverlake is a field trip based day camp where kids visit beaches, museums, parks, gardens, restaurants and many of L.A's best recreational and architectural venues. According to the camp's website, your child will run through sprinklers, go ocean swimming and do so much more.  After attending this program, your child will have a newfound appreciation for the L.A. lifestyle and everything it has to offer. (This sounds like an amazing program where your kids will learn about about the L.A. culture...check out their site to learn more.)

10. Wizard of Art Summer Camp

Perhaps more of an art school that offers art classes than an actual camp, the Wizard of Art offers summer workshops many kids love. Moreover, considering arts & crafts is such a widely known and loved summer activity offered at camps everywhere, remiss not to include The Wizard of Art on this list.  We've heard from a number of parents whose kids signed up for just one or two weeks for this camp, but loved it so much they extended their original enrollment time for the whole summer. Maybe yours will too!
